Our one-of-a-kind Artisan hand crafted Cuchillo knife, meaning Gaucho in Spanish, is crafted with a Pampeana, 14cm full tang, 440 stainless steel blade, has a convex cutting edge honed to its tip. It’s spine measures approximately 4mm. A slim, smooth designed handle, crafted with the hardwoods from Argentina polished animal bone, accented with brass spacers and butt end. The total length is 26cm (10.2") with a 14cm (5.5”) blade. Beautifully finished with hand cut and hand sown blonde leather scarb. Crafted by the skilled hands of the Argentine knife makers, who to this day still use ‘the old-world techniques and hand forging methods which have been practiced by many generations. (Actually, since the Spanish Conquerors introduced these handsome pieces in the mid 1500's to the Argentines. Each knife if balanced to perfection, therefor this knife can be used by either a right or left handle user. The exotic hardwoods used are known for their moisture barrier properties and are favorite crafting woods used by knifemakers! Orsage wood, redwood, rosewood, walnut wood to name a few of the woods that have been used for these knives.

Note: Bone used for knife handles is taken from naturally deceased animals. Bone handles are usually given a surface texture for better grip and added beauty

Each bone handle has its own pattern and distinguished look. Some bone is dyed in a variety of colors, or they may be left in their natural state. Bone is an excellent material for knife handles, it is durable with its rugged and attractive uniqueness. The majority of bone used for knife making in Argentina is typically from the Southern mountainous region. For example, antlered reindeer.
