Our one-of-a-kind Artisan hand crafted Cuchillo knife, meaning Gaucho in Spanish, is crafted with a 12 cm, full tang, hand forged, 440 stainless steel blade with a convex edge and spear point tip. It’s spine measures approximately 4mm. A slim, smooth designed handle, crafted with the hard wood called Guyana wood, animal bone and accented with brass spacers. The total length is 22cm (8,8") with a 12cm (5.7”) blade. Beautifully finished with hand cut and hand sown rawhide leather. Crafted by the skilled hands of the Argentine knife makers, who to this day still use ‘the old-world techniques and hand forging methods which have been practiced by many generations. (Actually, since the Spanish Conquerors introduced these handsome pieces in the mid 1500's to the Argentines. Each knife if balanced to perfection, therefor this knife can be used by either a right or left handle user. The exotic hardwood used, Gayacona wood is known for its moisture barrier properties and is a favorite crafting wood by the knife makers! - Also available in 10cm or 12cm length blades. Each bone handle has its own pattern and distinguished look. Some bone is dyed in a variety of colors, or they may be left in their natural state. Bone is an excellent material for knife handles, it is durable with its rugged and attractive uniqueness.
