Gaucho knife, referred to as a 'Cuchillo' knife, is hand crafted by the skilled hands of Argentine Artisans. It has a hand forged, full tang 5.5" Stainless steel Schmieden blade with a beautiful Guayacan wood handle. Guayacan wood is one of the densest hardwoods worldwide and is especially well suited for an outdoor tool such as a Gaucho knife. It has extraordinary moisture barrier properties and can withstand a lifetime of use. Handsomely accented with brass at the bolster and butt end of knife. Paired with an extra special cowhide leather sheath for blade protection. Total length of knife is 10". It not familiar with Guayacan wood, it is considered an exotic wood and is extremely durable, especially against weather, moisture, rot and abrasions.
